Veteran safety Andre Hal, a lymphoma survivor, has been named the Texans' Ed Block Courage award winner.
Hal's teammates voted him for the award, which recognized extra efforts on and off the field to overcome adversity.
Hal was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in the spring after he experienced blurry vision in practice.

Hal went through untraditional treatments at MD Anderson Cancer Center and was declared in remission in September.
“From the moment Andre was diagnosed, there was no doubt in his mind that he would beat it, become cancer-free and play football again this season,” Texans head trainer Geoff Kaplan said.
