For those interested in the AFC South, the Jacksonville Jaguars saw their starting quarterback Nick Foles injure his non-throwing shoulder, Sunday in their Week 1 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Foles — who the Jaguars signed this offseason in free agency — was slammed to the ground by a Chiefs defensive lineman in the first quarter on a pass rush. Replacing Foles at quarterback for the Jaguars was Gardner Minshew, a rookie quarterback from Washington State.
Last season, the Jaguars had Blake Bortles as their starting quarterback for 13 games (12 starts).
