Jackson, a Texans 2010 first-round pick, was the longest tenured Texan on the roster last season following the release of linebacker Brian Cushing.
Jackson enjoyed a breakout year last season with career highs in tackles (87) and forced fumbles (2). He also started every game for the Texans, something he had not done since his rookie year.
Last season, Jackson made the long-awaited move to safety, but found himself playing cornerback often due to the Texans’ lack of depth at the position.
He follows former teammate Tyrann Mathieu to the AFC West after earning the largest contract of his career.
