When Tom Savage left last Sunday’s game with an injury that was soon reported to be a concussion, there was hope Savage would be able to play in the Texans’ first playoff game when he returned to take a knee at the end of the first half. At halftime, however, Savage was reevaluated and declared out for the remainder of the game. Once that happened and Savage was formally put into the league’s concussion protocol, his status for Saturday afternoon’s game against the Raiders was very much in doubt.
