Despite a rash of injuries on the turf at NRG Stadium that many have attributed to poor sod conditions, the Houston Texans will not replace the field at NRG during this offseason.
Here's the Houston Chronicle's John McClain with the report:
By the way, Texans aren't going to change field at NRG Stadium.

Most of the controversy surrounding the turf this year came when both Arian Foster and DeMeco Ryans went down during a Texans/Eagles contest on November 2nd, while a litany of other Houston and Philly players also were forced to limp off the fields during different points of the game.
“Obviously, there are some lines and it’s not even all over,” said Eagles linebacker Connor Barwin, a former Texan, at the time. “The only thing they could do is bring in turf, and I hate playing on turf, so I deal with the grass.

“I don’t think either of those (injuries) had to do with the creases on the field. I know DeMeco (Ryans) told me his didn’t have to do with the crease, and I watched Arian (Foster’s), and I don’t think his did either.”
Qualms over NRG Stadium's grass aren't a new thing, but it doesn't appear Houston Texans management feels the evidence is worrisome enough to replace the turf in the coming months.
