The Houston Texans narrowly missed out on the postseason this season but greatly improved from their 2-12 mark in 2013, and they’re looking to improve their roster to get into the playoffs next year. Who are they targeting in free agency to help get them over the hump?
WR Cecil Shorts
Shorts produced good numbers in his four years in the league despite being limited by injuries and poor quarterback play in Jacksonville, and is looking for a new start. Houston is desperate to find a way to improve their receiving core with Andre Johnson’s release, and Shorts would give them a good target who won’t demand top dollar.
TE Jordan Cameron
Houston doesn't have a consistently productive tight end, and Cameron is a proven commodity the Texans wouldn’t have to break the bank for. He only had 24 catches for 424 yards and two touchdowns this past season while dealing with injuries and poor quarterback play, but he’s still one of the top tight ends available shown by his outstanding 2013 season (917 yards, 7 TD’s).
CB Cary Williams
Williams isn’t an elite corner on the free agency market, but he’s in the second tier and would give a major boost to Houston's secondary. He has Super Bowl experience from his time with the Ravens, and his physicality would be welcomed.
