The Jaguars kept it close through the first half, but the Texans pulled away in the third quarter and never looked back. Arian Foster's big day helped propel the Texans to an eventual 27-13 victory, and Houston is now back above .500 with a 7-6 overall record.
Turning Point:
This game turned in the third quarter, when when Houston chewed up 8:29 on a 16-play drive that took the Texans 84 yards for a touchdown. The drive exhausted Jacksonville's D, and they were unable to prevent Houston from tacking on 10 more in the fourth quarter.
Texans MVP:
Arian Foster had another big day as he returns from the slew of minor injuries that have slowed him down for some time now. Foster finished with 127 yards and a TD on 24 carries.
Stat of the Day:
Five players rushed the ball for Jacksonville...but none of them gained more than 30 yards on the day. Jacksonville's lack of production in the backfield will be a major issue to address when the offseason rolls around.
What's Next?
Houston, winners of three of their last four, will travel to Indianapolis next Sunday as they try to give their playoff hopes a boost. The 2-11 Jaguars, playing for pride at this point, will visit the Ravens in Baltimore.
