When Philippines met China in the opening game of Group D in the Asian Games, it was a battle between Jordan Clarkson and Zhou Qi, two of the three NBA players participating in the event.
Although Clarkson ended the game with the higher point amount in the box score, it was Zhou Qi who walked away with his team in the win column.
China defeated Philippines 82-80 behind Zhou Qi’s 25 points and 12 rebounds. Zhou was able to also showcase his range, knocking down four of his seven attempts from downtown. It was a strong opening victory for the Chinese team as they move to 1-0 in group play.
