Where James Harden ranks among single-season scoring leaders

James Harden is wrapping up a historic season matched by few in NBA history.

Only two players – Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan – have ever averaged more than the 36.2 points per game the Rockets star currently is averaging. Chamberlain averaged 36 points per game or more five different times and Jordan did it in his third year in the league, averaging 37.1 points in the 1986-87 season.

Harden is also just the 14th player in NBA history to score at least 2,500 points in a single season.
