The Rockets have been incredibly fortunate to land top three picks in consecutive seasons and secure elite talent like Jalen Green and Jabari Smith. Although the young players’ goal is to begin winning next season, it would be a better plan for the Rockets to limp along for one more season and collect another asset from the lottery before going into full-on, win-now mode, especially since the Rockets owe the Oklahoma City Thunder their first-round pick in 2024 anyway.
Luckily for the Rockets, there looks like there will be a franchise-changer available at the top of the 2023 draft and a clear-cut top three.
