The Houston Rockets were scheduled to play the Atlanta Hawks Saturday afternoon at State Farm Arena, a key matchup between one of the Western Conference's top teams and a squad battling for an Eastern Conference playoff spot. That game will now have to wait.
The National Basketball Association (NBA) announced Saturday morning that the game previously scheduled for 2 p.m. CST was postponed.
"The decision was made in consultation with local officials and to prioritize the safety of the players, fans and staff due to the severe weather and hazardous icy conditions in the Atlanta area," said the NBA in a release.
