Former Houston Cougars guard Jamal Shead is one one of the more celebrated collegiate players in the city’s history. Last year's Naismith Defensive Player of the Year could very well be staying close to home for his move to the next level.
Shead is slated to hold a workout with the Houston Rockets ahead of the 2024 NBA Draft on June 26-27, according to UH coach Kelvin Sampson. Shead also reportedly worked out with the San Antonio Spurs.
"I’m trying to go out there and compete," Shead told the media in Houston on Thursday regarding his pre-draft workouts.
