The Rockets reversed their plan with forward Danuel House Jr., opting on Tuesday to convert his two-way contract for the balance of the season.
The Rockets had been unwilling to sign House, a surprising contributor for them when they were particularly hard hit with injuries, only for this season, offering instead a three-year, $4.2 million contract. House had declined that offer to become a free agent after the season when he was confident he could receive at least the minimum salary the Rockets had offered.
House will be immediately eligible to return to the Rockets in a move the Rockets chose as a step to be "all in" this season, an individual familiar with the Rockets' thinking said.
