SAN ANTONIO – The Spurs arrived at their practice facility for shootaround Thursday morning with heavy hearts following the death of former teammate Rasual Butler and his wife in a single-car crash early Wednesday morning in Studio City, Calif.
Butler, who was 38, played 14 seasons in the NBA, with his final stop a 46-game stint with the Spurs in 2015-16.
"You don't have many words in those situations," Manu Ginobili said. "You are just deeply saddened. He was a great guy. We didn't have him for a long period. I think it was seven months, almost a season, and he was a super guy, a guy who was fun to have around, positive, appreciative.
