Spurs assistant coach James Borrego had his planned follow-up meeting with Rockets owner Leslie Alexander on Wednesday, according to a person with knowledge of the Rockets' coaching search, as the Rockets move another step closer to choosing a head coach.
Less clear was whether Borrego should be considered a finalist for the position, as 76ers associate head coach Mike D'Antoni and Hornets assistant Stephen Silas have been for the past week.
Borrego's interview on Monday and his meeting on Wednesday with Alexander might not indicate that the Rockets were satisfied with the candidates they had been considering, given their determination from the start of the process nearly four weeks ago to cast a wide net.
