Ryan Anderson over the years often had heard rumors that he would be traded to the Rockets. He never was. By the time the rumors this summer became that he would be traded by the Rockets, it was easier to dismiss them.
Anderson, who had signed with the Rockets as a free agent in 2016, had been considered the centerpiece in a deal to acquire Carmelo Anthony, but he said the team kept him informed long enough to know that a deal was unlikely. That speculation ended on Saturday with word that Anthony would be traded to Oklahoma City.
