BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Rockets rookie forward Vincent Edwards boarded the charter Thursday morning, having caught the last flight to Houston from McAllen and his stint with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, when James Harden welcomed him with a nod to the team's trip to New York.
"'You're back here for New York, huh,'" Edwards said Harden told him.
It was, however, not up to him. If anything, Edwards was surprised the Rockets would send him to the G League for training camp and the preseason and then call him back shortly before Saturday's season opener.
The move was made when James Ennis III was still uncertain to play and with Harden out.
