Rockets-Warriors series opener nets high viewership

The Warriors’ Game 1 victory Monday night over the Rockets was the night’s most-watched program on cable television and tied a record for the top-rated Western Conference finals Game 1 on TNT.

The game had a 6.7 Nielsen rating in the 56 major markets, equaling the 2016 Warriors-Thunder opener.

San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose was the top-rated market with a 21.6 Nielsen rating, followed by Houston at 14.7. That equals about 367,000 TV households in Houston and 529,000 in the Bay Area.
