The Rockets have the second-ranked offense in the NBA, but rank 28th in assists and in assist ratio. That is in large parts because they also go one-on-one more than twice as often as any team in the league as their preferred method to attack switching defenses, and often against any defense.
They also viewed their win against the Suns on Sunday as an example of an ability to move the ball to open shots not just because they finished with an NBA-record 27 3-pointers made, but because of the season-high 34 assists they collected, many when the Suns double-teamed the ball out of James Harden's hands.
