The Rockets traded reserve center Chinanu Onuaku to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for a 2020 second round draft pick Wednesday. The Rockets also are sending cash in the deal.
ESPN was first to report the trade.
Onuaku was a second round draft pick of the Rockets in 2016, when they selected him with the 37th overall pick.
The 21-year-old Onuaku spent most of his time playing for Rio Grande Valley, the Rockets' NBA G League affiliate.
Onuaku played in five games for the Rockets in the 2016-17 season and appeared in just one game last season.
