The basketball gods have finally shined down on the Houston Rockets.
The NBA Draft lottery awarded the Rockets with the second pick in next month’s draft.
The Rockets will pick after the Detroit Pistons, who won the NBA Draft lottery.
This is the highest the Rockets have picked since the team took Yao Ming first overall back in 2002.
With Cade Cunningham the likely first overall pick, many mock drafts have the team slated to pick Evan Mobley, a seven-foot center out of USC.
Mobley is a big man with abilities to create his own shot, create for others and a defensive presence that should challenge some of the best bigs in the league today.
