Splitter, 38, joined the Nets as a scout in 2019 before being named the franchise's player development coach one year later. He is a decorated international player who added seven seasons in the NBA, and in 2014, he became the first Brazillian-born player to win an NBA championship. Splitter played with Udoka for one year in the 2010-11 season, and the two worked together on the staff in Brooklyn during the 2020-21 season.
Houston's coaching staff is now filled with former colleagues of Udoka. Former Nets assistant Royal Ivey is reported to be on Houston's staff in 2023-24, as are former Boston assistants Ben Sullivan, Aaron Miles and Mike Moser.
