The Rockets game against the Pistons on Thursday was sold out, but began with a stunningly sparse crowd after the ticket-scanning system went down at 7 p.m.
"Our ticketing provider (AXS) made a manual error in our system that caused the scanner to go down at 7 o'clock," Gretchen Sheirr, the Rockets chief revenue officer, said. "We worked with their team to get it repaired quickly. Everyone affected was in the building prior to the end of the first quarter."
Sheirr said the Rockets were working to determine the number of ticket holders that were impacted and those impacted may still contact the Rockets and Toyota Center representatives.
