The Rockets on Monday announced the signing of center Brandan Wright for the remainder of the season. Wright reached a buyout agreement with the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday with the team putting him on waivers the next day.
The Rockets' planned addition of forward Joe Johnson was not completed while the Rockets waited for him to clear waivers following his buyout agreement with the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.
Wright will not be available Tuesday in Minnesota, joining the team on Wednesday at the earliest. Wright has averaged seven points and 3.6 rebounds in 10 NBA seasons, making 60.
