Rockets guard Russell Westbrook could be out Tuesday for the first time this season because of an injury.
Westbrook is listed as doubtful to play against the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday because of a sprained left thumb, Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said.
Westbrook has missed seven games this season, all with the Rockets holding him out of one game when playing on consecutive nights. The Rockets have gone 3-4 when he has not played, and have another back-to-back this week against the Lakers and Suns.
Westbrook has scored at least 30 points in nine of his past 11 games, ranking third in the NBA in scoring in that stretch with an average of 32.
