Rockets' rotation close to full strength 2 days before season opener

The Rockets were as close to full strength for Monday’s practice as they have been through the preseason, with Michael Carter-Williams, who missed the final three games of the preseason schedule, returning and centers Nene and Marquese Chriss cleared for about half of the workout.

Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said last week that he expects to have Carter-Williams in his rotation for Wednesday’s season opener. Guard Brandon Knight (knee rehabilitation) and center Zhou Qi (sprained left ankle) will remain out.

D’Antoni, however, said despite a few injuries along the way, he was pleased with the three weeks of preparations for a variety of reasons.
