Cam Whitmore arrived in the NBA this season with a reputation as something of a shoot-first guard. The Villanova product did little to dispel that notion in his first professional campaign.
Whitmore—who was selected by the Houston Rockets with the No. 20 pick in the 2023 NBA draft—averaged an impressive 23.7 points and 3.2 made triples per 36 minutes as a rookie, taking a hefty 19.1 shot attempts per 36. A few under-the-hood numbers add to Whitmore's standing as one of the league's premier gunners.
A quick hat tip is in order to aptly-named Twitter user @CamWhitmoreHQ, who found three numbers that paint Whitmore as perhaps something of a new-age J.
