Rockets 'repeatedly' tried to trade for this NBA All-Star, per report

The Rockets took a patient path from Western Conference laughingstock to resurgent contender in recent seasons. Houston's front office now appears eager to accelerate its rebuild, eyeing one NBA All-Star in particular.

Houston has "repeatedly expressed interest" in acquiring Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker via trade, according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon. Booker, 28, is one of the NBA's best shooting guards, a four-time All-Star averaging nearly 26 points per game this season. Do the Rockets have a viable path to acquiring Booker this summer?

"[Trading Booker will] never happen," Phoenix owner Mat Ishbia told MacMahon.
