Rockets' perspective as the NBA trade deadline approaches

We are inching closer to the NBA's Feb. 10 trade deadline with no major dominoes yet to fall. Christian Wood, Eric Gordon and John Wall all still remain Rockets. Ben Simmons - maybe the domino of all dominoes - remains a 76er, with recent indications that president of basketball operations Daryl Morey willing to patiently hold onto Simmons until the offseason.

There has not been much notable reported in recent days. The Rockets desire a first-round pick in any trade of Gordon. Marc Stein reported on his Substack that the Rockets would take Russell Westbrook in a trade for Wall, but that the Lakers would need to send their 2027 first-round pick for the deal to go through.
