The Rockets wasted little time following the end of the NBA moratorium on transactions before making the agreements reached last week official, following the signing of forward P.J. Tucker with the signing of Zhou Qi.
"We feel Zhou Qi has the potential to become the best Chinese player since Yao Ming," Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said in a statement prior to the press conference to introduce Tucker. "We're excited to have him join the Rockets and will continue to develop his talents with our coaches and training staff."
Zhou has been working with the Rockets training staff for several months and is playing for the Rockets summer league team beginning Friday in Las Vegas.
