The Houston Rockets were trending toward adding another youngster to their "Core 6" in Wednesday night's NBA draft. Tuesday night's trade could set the stage for far different type of acquisition.
Houston acquired the Phoenix Suns' 2027 first-round pick and the rights to Brooklyn Nets' first-round pick swaps with Phoenix in 2025 and 2029, according to multiple reports. The Nets will no longer have a pick swap with Houston in 2025 in addition to receiving their own 2026 first-round pick, effectively reversing two elements of the 2021 James Harden trade.
