When Rockets center Kenneth Faried began his day on Tuesday with a check of social media, he saw the many prayers sent for former teammate Jusuf Nurkic with no idea what had happened. It did not take long before his heart sank.
Nurkic suffered multiple compound fractures in his left leg in double overtime of the Trail Blazers game Monday against the Brooklyn Nets, a gruesome injury Faried quickly found and viewed online.
"I was like, 'wait, what, time out,'" Faried said. "They were sending prayers, but didn't say what it is. I saw myself. That's my guy right that.
