SAN ANTONIO – James Harden does not often stop to think of the long odds overcome. Especially now, he has more pressing concerns than to consider the chances that he and DeMar DeRozan, born weeks and roughly four miles apart in Los Angeles and friends through much of their lives, could have reached this point in the career choice their share.
Still, with Saturday bringing their first meeting since DeRozan’s moved to the Spurs, it hit Harden again.
“I don’t really get a chance to sit back and think about it, but it’s cool. It’s cool,” Harden said.
