Guard James Harden is doubtful and forward Trevor Ariza is out for the Rockets in Sunday's game against the Suns, likely the first game either will miss this season.
Harden, who has played with a sore wrist in the past two weeks, remained at the team hotel Sunday morning receiving intravenous treatment for "acute viral syndrome," flu-like symptoms that developed through the day on Saturday.
Ariza was not with the team following a death in the family.
The Rockets recalled forward Troy Williams and guard Isaiah Taylor from their NBA Development League affiliate on Sunday, with the players catching a morning flight from Des Moine, Iowa, landing in Phoenix at 9:30 a.
