Jalen Green and the Houston Rockets had the option of long-term stability with a five-year contract extension possible before Monday’s 5 p.m. deadline. Green also had the option to bypass an extension this October in hopes of landing a $200-plus million pact next summer. Houston and its 22-year-old guard met in the middle on contract terms Monday afternoon.
Green agreed to a three-year, $106 million contract extension Monday, as first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania. The deal will begin next season and include an player opt-out clause after the second year, keeping Green in Houston through at least the 2026-27 season.
