OAKLAND, Calif. - For all the times the Rockets have been intentionally fouled or used the strategy themselves, one instance has led the NBA to clarify the rule to prohibit a tactic used against them.
The NBA sent a memo to teams and referees on Tuesday to clarify that intentionally fouling a player inbounding the ball will be a delay of game violation, citing a Danny Green foul of Rockets center Clint Capela last month in San Antonio.
If the violation occurs in the final two minutes of regulation or overtime, it would be a technical foul.
