Two of the Houston Rockets' biggest rivals seem to be employing a similar strategy in the early stages of NBA free agency, signing stars of yesteryear in hopes of taking the next step.
The San Antonio Spurs are signing veteran point guard Chris Paul to a one-year deal worth north of $11 million, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Sunday, with news breaking Monday afternoon that the Dallas Mavericks will acquire Golden State Warriors wing Klay Thompson in a multi-team sign-and-trade. According to Wojnarowski, Thompson's deal is worth $50 million over three years.
