Rockets hope addition of Ryan Anderson, Eric Gordon bolsters defense

The Houston Rockets allowed 105.6 points per 100 possessions this past season. That was tied with Portland for 10th worst in the NBA.

So what does adding two proven shooters in Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon, free-agent signees Houston introduced Saturday, do for the Rockets? Well, the team thinks the offensive acquisitions help its defense.

"We feel very confident our offense will key our defense as well," general manager Daryl Morey said Saturday. "(The ball will) be coming out of the net more."

The logic Morey is following is that less missed shots result in less easy-transition baskets for opponents.
