After taking their final off-day of the preseason, the Rockets had a two-hour practice on Sunday, followed by more than 30 minutes of a Fan Fest scrimmage. Even that was relatively competitive, rather than the usual open-practice dunk contest with few veterans and less defense on display.
The Rockets played it in a five-on-five scrimmage, with James Harden scoring 10 points late to force overtime and Clint Capela tipping in a Harden miss at the buzzer to give the starters the win.
"Not bad; 90 percent of it was (a normal work day,)" Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni said.
