Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni remained hospitalized on Monday for a fourth day, but has improved enough from his intestinal virus to hope to be released on Tuesday. After some initial hope he could rejoin the Rockets Tuesday in Oklahoma City, he will not coach in the regular-season finale.
D'Antoni has been treated at Memorial-Hermann since Friday and had been severely dehydrated, but has shown good improvement on Monday.
The Rockets topped the Suns and Knicks in the two games D'Antoni missed. With associate head coach Jeff Bzdelik running the team along with assistants Roy Rogers, Brett Gunning and Matt Brase, the Rockets sent short-handed teams to two of the biggest blowouts of the season and set the NBA record with 27 3-pointers on Sunday.
