Clint Capela continued his case for making the All-Star Game in Charlotte with a career-high 31 points in Monday’s win over the Nuggets. Coach Mike D’Antoni and P.J. Tucker continued to campaign for him a day later.
“He’s playing at the level of an All-Star,” the coach said Tuesday. “There’s only 12 slots and a lot of people left off, so I don’t think it’s a sleight, (but) he deserves that as much as anybody else.”
The Rockets are 7-1 in their last eight games. In that stretch, Capela is averaging 20 points and 17 rebounds, spiked by four 20-plus performances.
