TORONTO – With 22 rebounds on Tuesday, Rockets center Clint Capela extended his streak of games with at least 19 rebounds to eight straight, the longest stretch with that many boards in the past 50 NBA seasons.
As remarkable, however, might have been the 45 ½ minutes he played Tuesday, his first game after sitting out a week with an upper respiratory infection that had hospitalized him.
“I was literally in bed for a week, so I really didn’t expect that much (playing time),” Capela said. “I was just thinking ‘push through, whatever happens, happens.’ I actually felt great.
