Well, the Houston Rockets will have at least one representative at the NBA's All-Star weekend in February despite the team sporting a league-worst 10–29 record entering Sunday night game against Minnesota.
Third-year forward KJ Martin committed Sunday morning to participating in the 2023 Slam Dunk Contest, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania. Martin is the second player to agree to competing in the event, joining Portland Trail Blazers rookie Shaedon Sharpe.
Martin, 22, is an effective bench piece for the Rockets, averaging 10.4 points per game on 55 percent shooting. The 2022 second-round pick has also established himself as one of the game's best young high flyers, standing as an elite put-back dunker on the offensive glass.
