Tilman Fertitta on Thursday took the expected step toward becoming approved as Rockets owner with his scheduled meeting with the NBA Board of Governors Executive Committee, a person with knowledge of the meeting said.
There have been no hitches with the meetings or the presentation of financial and other information. Though no vote was taken or expected at Thursday's Board of Governors meeting, the vote to approve the Rockets' transfer of ownership from Leslie Alexander to Fertitta is expected to come by the end of next week. Three-quarters of the Board of Governors must vote in favor of the transfer of ownership for it to be approved.
