NBA's CBA being tweaked to assist role players

While the NBA and its players work to complete the deal on a new collective bargaining agreement, Rockets co-player representative Pat Beverley said he is happy to have heard about tweaks in the rules that will help role players who become restricted free agents as he had been in 2015.

With Donatas Motiejunas finally returning to the Rockets after an extremely protracted process, Beverley said the new deal could help the rank and file of the union.

"All due respect to all the superstars who are kind of the face of the league, me and Trev (Ariza, the Rockets co-player representative) talked about the glue guys, the utility guys that you need on your team, make the team possible," Beverley said.
