The Rockets witnessed a rarity on Friday: No coach Mike D'Antoni running the show. The typically ironman D'Antoni missed the home game against the New York Knicks because of stomach flu.
His absence left associate head coach Jeff Bzdelik in charge of a team trying to secure home-court advantage for the first round of the playoffs. D'Antoni is expected back Sunday, when the Rockets host the Phoenix Suns.
"Nothing changes at all," Bzdelik said of the Rockets' in-game routine minus D'Antoni. "I'll continue to spearhead the defense. Brett Gunning will continue to spearhead the offense. Rotations, sub-patterns will remain the same.
