Dirk Nowitzki, who has led the Dallas Mavericks to 15 NBA playoffs, told ESPN's Marc Stein on the TrueHoop Conversations podcast that "unless something drastic changes," he intends to return next year for his 20th season.
"I said last summer: I signed a two-year deal, [and] that obviously meant I want to play for two more," Nowitzki said on the podcast. "I want to complete that deal."
Nowitzki is under contract next season with a $25 million team option. He is a 13-time All-Star, MVP (2007), and was named Finals MVP in 2011 when the Mavericks won the championship.
