The Houston Rockets invested in Jalen Green’s potential when the somehow-still-22-year-old guard signed a three-year, $106 million contract extension earlier this month. Green is quickly rewarding the franchise’s faith.
Green tallied 20-plus points in each of Houston’s first four games this season, and only six players are averaging more than his 28.8 points per game entering Tuesday. The sheer point totals aren’t totally surprising. But Green’s frequency and accuracy from beyond the arc is worth investigating after the season’s first quartet of contests.
Green splashed six threes in the first half and finished the night with 36 points in Monday’s 106-101 win at the San Antonio Spurs, and he’s now made 19 of 46 three-point attempts this season.
