Jalen Green was the Houston Rockets' first draft pick in the post-James-Harden era, then the de-facto face of a particularly rocky rebuild. The 22-year-old-guard says the lows of Houston's rebuild make Monday's contract extension particularly sweet.
Green, who won't turn 23 until February, was one of two Rockets to sign a contract extension with Houston on Monday. Green inked a three-year, $106 million deal, while center Alperen u015eengün agreed to a five-year, $185 million pact. Both Green and u015eengün were 2021 first-round picks, quickly tasked with major minutes and offensive responsibility on teams largely bereft of talent.
