Jabari Smith turned in a relatively pedestrian performance on Sunday night by most accounts.
The No. 3 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft tallied just six points as the Houston Rockets secured a 97-92 win over Milwaukee, and Smith finished the night just 1-9 from the field and 0-4 from beyond the arc. Yet a simple look at the box score does Smith a disservice. Houston's young forward spent much of the night matched up against two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, and for the most part, Smith held his own.
Antetokounmpo tore through the Rockets' defense with ease in late October, a double-digit Milwaukee win in which he scored 44 points, added 12 rebounds and missed more free-throw attempts (five) than shots from the field (four).
